reinstalled Windows 7

Hi
My PC has been getting slower and slower so decided to reinstall.
Have saved all my files on a external hard drive and reinstalled the OS, all is well and working much better but when i go to "computer" it shows the hard drive as 51.4 GB free of 300GB when before the reinstall it was 51.7 free, how can this be? considering I have removed nearly 16 thousand photos and numerous videos. My files such as My documents, my pictures, my videos are all empty I only have Windows files on the hard drive.

You dident actually format the drive before doing the reinstall.

All you did was essentially replace the windows files with fresh copies. If your looking to gain more speed this will have little impact.

You'll need to start again and format the drive during the re-install, this you get a "clean install".
  • Thanks for the replies, I thought it went to easy.
