Free PPI - is there such a thing?

I've just been on with Bank of Ireland UK (now Post Office) asking, before I claim, if there was PPI ever paid on the credit card I had some years ago. On investigation I was informed that I had had free PPI on the card provided by BOI/Genuis(?) and so I could not make a claim. Is this right?

  • If you paid a monthly premium then it was not free and its back to you to do more investigation.
If it was free then they are right.
