adventure insurance

hi there, i am new here.

i have been looking for some insurance that pays out if i fall off a hill in scotland and can't work for a while.

anyone know of such insurance?

    It depends on what you are actually doing on the side of a hill

    skiing or rambling = cheap cover / free soloing = forget it
  • So you are looking for income protection insurance. Comes in two flavours:

    Accident & Sickness - budget version, only pays out for 12-24 months maximum and no option to cover pre-existing conditions

    Permanent health insurance - full fat version, pays out until a specified date, normally your 65th birthday, and will consider covering pre-existing conditions.

    With both types you need to check what activities are excluded and find one that is acceptable to you. PHI is almost exclusively sold via brokers and IFAs so they'd advise you on if your hobbies are within their terms or not
