Double check that the payment was made (what date?) and that the two direct debits were paid out (what dates?).

Did your account ever go into the read during January?

The terms say that if you
    • don’t pay in at least £750 into your Reward Current Account or
    • have fewer than two different direct debit mandates paid from your
    Reward Current Account or
    • have had a debit balance (planned or unplanned) on your Reward Current Account at the end of any day during the calendar month

you won’t receive any reward payment the following calendar month.

Thank you all, Scottish power changed my tariff and did not take my direct debit, mystery solved. Hopefully things will be back to normal next month.

Another good reason to have two Tesco accounts for the Direct Debit purposes!

    Hi

To cover myself I have 3 direct debits-Sky broadband, Virgin Mobile and Tesco Saver. ( I shifted most of my direct debits to my Reward Account as I want to use my Santander 1-2-3 account mainly for saving)

Do you realise you can get cashback on the Sky and Virgin DDs with Santander's 123 current account?

Worth a few ££ by the end of the year...also negates their £2 monthly fee.

  • I had the same problem with my water company after switching accounts, for some reason they increased the charge and collected over a shorter period meaning no direct debit taken since December.

I'm now following Steve_xx's advice and have setup 2 Tesco DD's on all of my current accounts at £1 each to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Hi

They are the direct debits to get the £5.00 reward as I might close my Tesco Saver account. I'll probaby set up a direct debit for my council tax.

Why close the Tesco Saver? You can have multiple direct debits from other account pulling money to it. What would be your point in closing it?
