standby energy saving

The information on this site: http://www.oneclickpower.com will explain what the Intellipanel does better than I can. It "automatically powers peripheral equipment when the desktop computer is switched on".

I'd like to get one of these but they're only made, by this company anyway, with a 2m cable & I need a 3m cable. I'm assuming that I can't plug this piece of kit into another extension - am I right??

Has anyone else used one of these? Any info would be useful. Thanks.

It shows the intelligiplug with a extension in the demo so I cant see why it wouldnt work in the Intellipanel

From watching the demo, the MASTER SOCKET is the first socket on the unit so wouldn't be affected by using an extra 1m extension. Probably worth trying to confirm this when you buy 1.

There's also the plug I saw on Dragon's Den a while back. Due for release "Summer 2007" http://www.thesavasocket.co.uk/index.html

I remember when they were presenting and saying they pretty much had a patent wrapped up and nothing else was like it on the market. I couldn't believe what they were saying as I had the oneclickpower products in my mind at the time. Also their quotes about standby power used normally were very misleading (only really apply to large plasmas). I have the same device as they did in the show for measuring wattage and my old CRT tv doesn't even register a wattage (lower than minimum measured) on that device.

I'm going to buy the Intellipanel (Thanks anniebeetham for bringing it to my attention) There is mention of a Promotional Code on the website.
Anyone have any idea where to get it from?

Although I currently use some Domia Lite modules which have a radio remote. My main multiway for my pc and peripherals plugs into one and I switch off by remote after I switch off my pc. There certainly are advantages to having a remote but again doesn't seem to be anything new as I've been using the domia modules for quite a while. I saw the catchup Dragon's Den as well (was actually watching because I do work for one of the other companies shown in the same episode), thought it was interesting that the patent didn't stand up and kind of misled the Dragons but I kind of guessed that would happen.
