Ok, I am a computer numpty.... but I got a new email address on outlook just to do surveys, competitions etc. so as not to clog up my everyday email address which is gmail. I put a link to outlook on my favourites bar, as I have one for gmail. Now that takes me to an old email address that I no longer use and have not been able to access for some time. I managed to use the new one for a couple of days so there are emails there but I seem to have 'lost' it .. don't laugh!
I can't add this new email address to my 'aliases' because gmail say it is already taken! .... I can't find this new email address at all. I can't import it to my gmail account because I have to open it to link it. All the help pages I have looked at don't help me at all.
I know I am a numpty, please can someone explain what I have done wrong? Simply?

Have you tried signing out of the old email addy and signing in to the new one?
If you wish to make it easy to use both, I have three different outlook email addresses (totally different) and I use three different browsers to access them, therefore not needing to sign in and out of each one. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Go into 'Accounts' in Outlook and delete the unused account? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
