Removal company (London -> Edinburgh)

Could someone advise me on a transport company (pm if necessary) to move furniture and boxes from London to Edinburgh?

The quotes we've gotten so far start around £3000.

    Seems steep, i have done the move in both directions and do not recall the bill being that high.

    Have you asked both the nationals and the more local operators? Ultimately it will be a case of shopping around, although cheapest is not always best with your life possessions..!

    I want someone at least half reputable but don't want to be paying for someone's cocaine at the same time lol.

    self packing or their packing?

    Frustrating if they enforce their own. i had this once as going into storage for 2 mo after a move south over the border again, ironically the only time I have ever had goods damaged, their packing was far shoddier than I would have done myself!
