late payments and PDL

Hello, I have a post going in the Mortgage part. But thought I would have a go here to.

Basically what damage can late payments and PDL have on a Mortgage application?

Late Payments were at start of 2010. So 5 years ago.
PDLoans, last one I had was start of 2012. So 3 years ago.

Everything else is in green and has been since the late payments of 2010. Just the PDL spoil in since then.
I have 6 active accounts all green. No defaults or CCJs.

My theory.....
Defaults and CCJ can get you a reject straight away. But I have read if they are 'settled' and over 4 years old they can be overlooked.
But....I have also seen people being rejected for late payments.
So.....haha. If thats the case my late payments of 5 years ago...I should be ok, right?

Right, I will stop yapping. What effect will these late ones have?
Will I qualify (if at all) for better interest rates?
And PDLs....are these seen as adverse.

I admit though that I use these not to pay bills but to go out with friends. Yes stupid I know. But they come with no bells and whistles that tell you they could affect a Mortgage.

Any advice would be great...your the experts! X

It really depends on the lender involved.

Generally the older negative marks are the less impact they have on a lenders decision. But some lenders may be unwilling to lend to anyone with any missed payments at any point in the last 6 years, or any evidence of payday loans on their credit file.

These items alone shouldn't stop you getting a mortgage, but for some lenders they could cause an issue.
