CP Plus parking ticket Services M4 Junction 47. Penllergaer Swansea

Hi,
I went to meet a friend for coffee at a local services in Swansea and had coffee, according to CP Plus I arrived at 16.21pm and left at 19.11pm, I never even knew that there was such a car park restriction there or at any services and if so I wouldn't of stayed long . When I arrived I looked for road marks to make sure it wasn't disabled and that I was parked in the right spot. I didn't see any parking signs as I'm dyslexic I don't always see signs I looked around to see if there was a pay machine and I didn't see one I rushed in to meet my freind and I bought the coffee we chatted a while and she left while I ordered Burger king to take home which I had to wait 15 mins as they had to cook it.. They said they are charging me £100 or £60 if I pay it within a 2 weeks. I don't know what to do I have emailed them to explain but they said if I had proof they will look into it. I haven't any receipts as I don't keep cash receipts for coffee and burger king. Please help this is a lot of money.

Unfortunately you have rushed things where you should have waited for a notice to keeper to arrive through the post. All is not lost however. You have appealed and they must consider and respond. Unfortunatly mitigationg circumstances won't be considered so it is highly likely your appeal will be rejected.

Start by reading the Sticky thread for NEWBIES at the top of the main page to see what to do next. Fortunatly CP Plus appear to be BPA membere so in their reply to your appeal they should include a PoPLA code. This is the silver bullet that will get this killed off by a second stage appeal to PoPLA.
Look specifically at the How to Win at POPLA section of the NEWBIES thread.

Most imprtant of all, you will not have to pay a penny so ignore the amount CP Plus are quoting. Do not worry, you will get the MSE 100% discount provided you follow the advice on here.

Where do I find this : How to Win at POPLA
and where do I see newbies threads
Shall I just ignore all letters and emails and don't pay at all?
I have never seen or heard of services parking fines until I had one.
How do I follow the MSE 100% where is it and what is it?

Vie never seen or heard of series parking fines until I had on.

this isnt a parking fine either, its an invoice, nothing more

a private company cannot fine you at all

the NEWBIES sticky thread is about 2 or 3 threads down from the green banner at the top of this forum, above your thread

if you ignore all this you could be had up in court , which I doubt you will ignore , so your best bet is to stop assuming your course of action or inaction and to follow the advice you asked for

read and follow the NEWBIES sticky thread (above this one) , slowly if you have problems reading , or get somebody sensible to read it with you and explain it

send the template letter to the PPC and wait for a popla code, then appeal to popla (if you havent got a code that is)

if you DO have a popla code, read post #3 of the newbies thread and click on the blue link therein
  • Just read some of it now and it looks complicated and I have already told them through email it was me in the car as I meet the friend in the services for coffee plus I paid cash for coffee and cash for food so I haven't got receipt either the only thing maybe they have is a film of me coming in getting coffee chatting to friend and buying burger king on way out.

any cctv would be with the MSA, not the PPC, so complain to the MSA and get it cancelled

this parking invoice would have been achieved through ANPR cameras , not CCTV

but also appeal to the PPC and get a popla code too, dont miss your chances to quash this through sitting on your hands !
  • Hellouk, don't panic: if you can, make yourself a cup of tea and go through the How To Win At POPLA part of newbies thread slowly, don't rush.

If I were you, I'd make some notes as I went through it, and then search this part of the forum for any other threads for a similar situation (but please look at recent ones only, say within the last 6 months or so) and those should help you build your POPLA appeal draft.

You can then post that on here for comments and we'll help you tweak it: the regulars on here have a 100% (pretty much) success rate with POPLA appeals - you won't be paying the PPC a penny of your hard-earned money :)

Hellouk - just joining the band of msers who want to boost your confidence in dealing with this nuisance.
'I have never seen or heard of services [STRIKE]parking fines[/STRIKE]unenforceable, try-it-on invoices until I had one.'

My 2 scam invoices came like yours, in a services area where I stopped to rest. Like you, I had never heard of them being a rip-off hunting ground for these low-life, print-your-own-fortune hunters.

Dyslexia can be a nightmare when dealing with intense printed word, so I wonder if the friend you met could help, or someone else? Working on it as a team can be good.
Beating these sharks will be reason for another celebratory cup:-)

Fruitcake's right about making notes as you go. Tick off each bit of suggested reading when you've understood it. Ask yourself if it applies to you? Copy and paste it as you build your letter for us to look over before you send it..

Good luck. People here are only too pleased to help those who show willing and use the toolkit that this forum provides: it's always up to date, too.

  • Hellouk,

Like you I was also subject to a fake parking ticket from CP Plus.

By following the advice I found in the NEWBIES thread I appealed first to CP Plus, who obviously rejected my appeal, and then to POPLA using the code that CP Plus had to supply with their rejection letter.

POPLA found that CP Plus's demands for money were unjustified and ordered them to cancel the fake parking ticket.

Keep calm, work your way through the process and take pleasure knowing that at the end of it you will pay CP Plus nothing but CP Plus will get a bill from POPLA for £27 to pay for the POPLA appeal. :T

  • Yesterday I received a parking charge notice dated 06.10.2014 for parking at a hospital I have never been too, also this is the first I have heard of this notice and I wasn't at this hospital, the details on the notice have my registration number and my name, but said they wrote to the registered keeper and the registered keeper informed them it was me who was driving, I am the registered keeper and I have never received any letters or anything until yesterday. Please can somebody give me some advice

Yes. Start your own new thread in here rather than hijacking somboy else's. Or (better yet) wait for Crabman to move your thread from Motoring into here. (You have PMd him, haven't you?)
