My previous boilers, which were non-condensing, just had a knob that controlled the boiler output temperature. They made no distinction between hot water and central heating.

The Glow worm set up I have now, knows to use ~60 degrees initial for hot water, then ~80 degrees to finish off. It also goes full blast to catch up if necessary, then simmers along around ~50 degrees when doing central heating. I love it.

You can have anything in between in terms of intelligence.

My guy was going to put in the Glow worm boiler dumb, without a Smart wiring centre, using the boiler demand line only. £200 extra in parts makes a huge difference: Smart Wiring Centre, Climapro programmer, Outdoor sensor.
