Beware of this company

Hi there, Please be vey aware and stay away from the internet company ukelectrics direct.co.uk. I paid them £1259.10 for a Samsung tv. It`s a total scam! my moneys gone and the company is still on the google sarch engine. I paid using BACS out of my Lloyds debit account. The bank says that I have lost the money even though last Friday 2 hours after I had deposited it I tried to stop it. There`s no fool like an old fool I guess.

Always use a credit card... = Someone else's money with protection!
ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
    NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 2027
  • When you send BACs payments, most banks warn you that you can't claim it back once it's sent. You need to always pay on a credit card (Debit card if you don't have a credit card).
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

Good effort, but I don't see such company either in Google or directly.

    Electronics maybe?

Any 'uk' in the website name almost definitely means 'China' nowadays.
Sorry, it seems that there are no available payment methods for your state. Please contact us if you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements.

Only very naive people don't know that bank transfer is almost always a sign of scam.

Can't even find such a company using Google, with or without the space. Are you sure you got the name right?

They do seem to be very new, whois says the name was registered on 12th January:

    Registrant:
    Alex Hale

    Registrant type:
    UK Individual

    Registrant's address:
    32 LANCASTER ROAD
    St Albans
    AL1 4ET
    United Kingdom

What is it that makes you think it's a scam?

What do they say when you try to contact them?

Have you been in touch with Trading Standards and Action Fraud?

Have you sent them a Letter Before Action requesting your money back, or started a small claim at Moneyclaim Online?

Do you know any reputable company that doesn't take card payments and insists on a bank transfer?

OP, can you update your message title and add the name of the company that you post you are warning us about.
  • Hi Paul, I nearly bought a TV from this lot but because I couldn't pay by card I managed to avoid them, thankfully.

But keeping a long story short, because I was so suspicious of them, I reported them to the TSB, the bank who's details the website gave me to do my bacs transfer. The bank were at best unhelpful and not massively interested, but promised to investigate my suspicions.

I also reported it to crimestoppers who again seemed quite un-fussed about the whole thing, but again who promised to investigate.

Interestingly, I reported to both on the 27th January at 10.00 am and 10.35 am, a good 3 days before you were turned over it seems, so if I were you, I would be getting onto the bank TSB and asking some straight talking questions. I am happy to back you with verification if required.

I know from another forum that has just shut down that you are not alone in being done and I can only hope that somebody finds the weasel behind it. I personally would dearly love to find him and he didn't even get me ! Good luck lad, sorry to hear your bad news.
