I have had virtually the same experience using P4D. Purchased their £500 extra insurance when sending a computer via UPS.
Low and behold UPS smashed the computer up, now P4D are saying they won't pay out because computers are on their prohibited items list.
There was absolutely no warning that there were "prohibited items" when purchasing the insurance (I have a screenshot of the checkout process - there's only a tiny link to their T&Cs), and the fact that you have to specify the type of item gives the illusion of the item being covered (IMHO).
Personally, I think this is pretty deceptive ruse to get you to buy some unnecessary insurance, and worse, it leaves you without cover. Had I known the computer wasn't insured for damage I would have sought and alternative provider.
Not sure what to do now though.
@baggies1 - Did you make any progress with this? Maybe with a few of us taking them to court there's more chance of getting our money back?0 -
