Suspicious card

My partner's ex wife left home over 6 years ago. We have recently had some mail addressed to her which contains what feels like a credit card. The return address is P.O Box 9134 , 51 Saffron Road Leicester LE18 9DH.
Apparently she has a very poor credit rating and is in financial difficulty.
The only other mail that has come here in the past few years have been letters from debtors.
Should we be suspicious?

As the mail is not for you stick it in a post box marked "return to sender"

    What are you suspicious of?

I would also mark it 'Not known at this address'

Will be doing exactly that now we know who to send it back to. There is no financial connection to this address from this person any more. They left over 6 years ago.
Why are Barclaycard sending any mail let alone containing cards to this person at this address unless they requested it
It is suspicious , given their desparate finances, that they may be trying to obtain credit using their former address.

Even if they are trying to obtain credit using your address it won't impact on you on your partner's credit files (presuming he is not financially associated with his ex still).

You knew this from the start. In fact it's RM's business.

Just a replacement card for some abandoned one that is close to expire?

No. A previous answer directed me to Barclaycard.
Close to expire? Of course the old one would have been over 6 years old then..nothing has been sent from them before during that time...or we wouldn't be asking this question.
