Should I send an invoice?

One of the local rags to me has done a report on the Central TV studios and used one of my pictures from my permission visit.!
This was done through a mutual friend and he asked if he could send that shot. I said it was fine as long as I got credit for it.!
I have only just found out the article has been up for a few days now but I have not been credited for the picture.!
Is it worth pursuing or just dropping it?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

Sorry.
It's a derelict building which I obtained permission to take photos before it got demolished.0 -
It is your friend you need to pursue.
Could well be that the newspaper* never received a request to credit you.
Send an invoice to your friend if you like.
*I assume you mean newspaper.0 -
I'd imagine that the newspaper will simply bin an invoice as there appears to have been no indication that publication required a fee. If you contact them politely pointing out the failure to credit you they may publish a correction, although they may ask you to prove that you do indeed hold the copyright given that you didn't submit the photo.0

You should find this useful:

Essentially any publication should seek permission from the copyright owner before using an image. It may be that the publication in this instance sought permission from your friend believing him to be the creator and he incorrectly gave permission in this case.
In the first instance I would ask myself what is to be gained/lost from pursuing this. You could end up losing a friend and affecting their relationship with the publication, on the other hand you may be entitled to payment for use of the image (albeit this may be small).0 -
I'd make absolutely sure exactly what the friend said to the local paper when giving them the picture before taking any other action.0
