Usage does not seem far off .
Standard tariff at unknown kwh price .Price probably went up after those readings posted .
Plus i guess that the tariff includes a standing charge daily .
Rough guess sc about 28 p per day .0 -
I dont understand what this fixed tariff means? I know it doesnt mean you are locked in in terms of wanting to get out neceesarily. but im confused that it says its is flat fee of 52 a month yet you are still saying you pay more depending on usage? How can it both be 52 per month and also maybe you have to pay more? Whats the point of quoting 52 a month if you would end up paying more?0

Fixed means no prise rise for the term of the tariff .
But leaving early may incur a penalty .
Flat fee of £52 per month ??? Where does this come from ???
Or is this an estimated direct debit/ monthly figure . Thats it a guess based upon figures you enter or estimate as to your probable usage .
Amount used and charges depend upon how much you have used .0 -

The op says
"I thought that it was just a temporary thing but it's been a year or more Ive been paying that price. "CashStrapped wrote: »I am £120 in credit, but that will be reduced by at least £60 after my next bill.
So, they have your bill correct to within £60 but are out by £190 for the op and you think it is correct.
I don't care what anyone in here says, if they had £190 of my money I would want it back.0 -
^ye :P that is what I was trying to say. And I was looking at my previous payments and every time through the year it's been between 110 odd and nearly 200 in credit.
The tariff for 52 a month is:
Online Fixed Price Energy February 2016
Annual cost: £627.82
So you guys are saying only the energy price is fixed. But what does 52 month mean then? doesnt that mean i will definitely pay 52 a month till 2016?
I see this in the more info: Fixed Price - Online Fixed Price Energy February 2016 prices will remain fixed until 29th February 2016 but your Direct Debit and/or bill amount may vary depending on your gas and/or electricity usage.
Well what is the point of quoting a monthly fee if it may change based on usage
defeats the object to me. 0 -
I live in an apartment block so they usually come and read the meter quarterly i think but ive also given them myself since they said it might go down if i did but turned out it didnt make a diff.0

£52 is a monthly payment based on 1/12 what it thinks you will pay for a year provided that you use the projected amount of electricity in the calculation. Use more then you will pay more: use less then you will pay less. Energy is not offered on a ' eat all you want for £6 basis'.
Put another way. The energy company thinks that you will pay £627 per year or £627/12 or £52 per month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So why dont I pay 52 a month now on my current if that is how much they think I use? Why am i paying 80 when they predict I use less

We do seem to be going around in a few circles. The £80 is on the Standard tariff; the £52 is on the Online Fixed tariff. You need to apply for it -Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
