Utility Warehouse worth it?
Hi, does anyone have experience of Utility Warehouse for the main, or all, household bills.?
A nephew has started working for them, selling, and is trying to interest my daughter (age 24, just about to get a house after saving madly) and also ourselves in it. I have had a look at the website as am not one to be blinded with selling talk but am not sure....you can't find everything out on it (partner benefits etc) although he tells me he comes out quids in. I am just a bit wary as he has been a bit of a seller/wide boy in the past with fingers in many schemes, although we love him to bits I don't want to get involved in something which may cost us!
We are careful about who we go with and do research to make sure they are the best for us. (eg: I pay £10 a month for my phone and this covers all the minutes, texts, internet I need (and only pay that because I needed a new phone and it came with the contract) and as it's Tesco also get points. Hubby and son pay £7.50 for similar deal)
So...any feedback?

All UW questions are supposed to be put in the dedicated UW thread. As you'd expect that particular thread has become a bit of a bunfight between UW distributors extolling this companies virtues, and others.
What I'll say is that tariffs from all companies appear on comparison sites. Energyhelpline is particularly clear - although make sure you choose "all tariffs" rather than "tariffs we can switch you to today". There is no exception to this, and if a UW rep says otherwise (as one did to me), they're lying.
Last time I checked (in my area)UW were 28th Cheapest, about £180 more expensive than the cheapest tariff elsewhere. I know nothing about telecoms products, and in the thread mentioned earlier both sides claim victory, so in order to get that £180 back you'd need to get it via their cashback offering. Possible, but unlikely if you're particularly frugal.
Not for me personally.0 -
Sorry, didn't realise...can it be moved then?

But, this payment would be more than outweighed if we took their landline, broadband, gas & electricity. If you spend a LOT in stores that take the cashback card it can still work out a good deal but you really must do your sums before signing up.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

We get 1% on our current cashback card...not much but it adds up over the year. Ater reading through Bluebirdman of Alcathays reply though will have another detailed check...am a little hampered by the fact I have broken my leg so have to crutch it to filing cabinet!0

Read opening post by Martin Lewis and then post at the end of the thread.he has been a bit of a seller/wide boy in the past with fingers in many schemes,
Really?0 -
What do you mean by "really?!" comment at the end of your post?!0

Cut and paste your post in the correct thread and I will give you the answer.0

Grow up....not that concerned, I merely asked a simple question and unfortunately, by accident, put it on the wrong thread. Exuse me for doing so...there is no need to be rude. Don't bother with a reply, I don't go on Martin's Money Tips to get emboiled in arguements , I go on for kind advise and helpful tips.0

Was trying to give you advice - the reason for posting on the correct thread is this thread will be deleted - surprised it has lasted so long.0

UW are one of those companies who are great at taking your cash but not great if you have any problems or issues. I did.......they couldn't be bothered replying to my calls let alone attempt to fix the problem. they were soon back in touch when they were after more money though. Distributors muddy the waters as they are after your cash too. My advice would be to stay away at all cost!0
