Club Lloyds account question

Hi,

I currently have 2 direct debits coming out of my Club Lloyds account in order to qualify for the 4% interest, one of which is my Barclaycard payment. I normally have my Barclaycard direct debit coming out of my account on the 1st working day of the moment, however I've just realised that Barclaycard took my DD for Jan on the 29 Dec, and the payment for this month today. This meant that I only had 1 DD coming out of my Club Lloyds account in Jan so unfortunately I didn't qualify for the interest.

I contacted Lloyds but they refused to do anything about it and the Barclaycard call centre is just plain rubbish! Do I have a leg to stand on re. Barclaycard?

Any help appreciated!

Shift your Barclaycard statement date so your DD is collected in the middle of the month.

Use DDs that you are in control of, ie savings accounts that you can pull funds into by DD.

You'll receive interest for Jan tonight as the monthly billing period ends at midnight tonight ;)

Although the terms state calendar month the systems are geared to work to monthly billing periods so as long as 2 direct debits have paid out in the period 3rd Jan - 2nd Feb you'll be OK.

Thanks Yorkshire Boy - think that's a good plan - will avoid having the same problem again!

Thanks Ed - unfortunately, my Jan payment for Barclaycard was taken on 29 Dec so outside of the period!

OP, when did you open the Club Lloyds account?

I'm sure I recall Lloyds having a 6-10 week 'grace period' from account opening when it came to funding/DDs/credit interest/Club Lloyds fee...

Have had it for a few months, so out of the grace period, should have known better but didn't realize that Barclaycard would take DD early!
