Is Tax paid on Refunded Uni Fees ?

Options
Hello,
I have searched the forums for an answer but hope someone can help
My son completed the GDL last year (Law degree) and has since obtained a training contract with a magic circle law firm which involves the refund of GDL fees. We paid the fees from taxable income , as the refund will be paid to him , will this be taxable
?
Thankyou in advance
F

Not sure but just thinking I have had refunds from employers in the past for courses I have done and paid for they have just been listed as "course fee" on my pay slip, along with the travel costs and have been totally ignored by the PAYE system and my tax returns

I think the replies in your duplicate thread on the Cutting Tax board have answered your question.
