Trading Car In - To fix or not to fix?

Yep, check the tyres!
Browsing M cars on autotrader lately, see a pic of a cheap new tyre, where else has money been scrimped on...
Rear wiper blade if fitted is my favourite, only a couple quid but often old dry and split. Why not just put a new one on.
Last few cars:
M3, about 110k to 145k, no oil use (book states loads as high output engine).
M5, about 110k to 130k, no oil use once oil cap was adjusted.
A4 tdi, 180k to 198k, no oil use.
This Passat tdi, 115k to 135k, no oil use as yet.
None of them blew up or needed a new gearbox.
Modern oil will keep them going for just about ever.0 -

What about a Lexus, fancy one of them?
Or an M3?
Or an Audi A3 tdi with very high miles, and the wrong wheels and bumpers?
Or a Yaris? Although you need to avoid the ones with no rear brakes.
Or a 98 Corolla? I hear they're pretty nippy, especially with an induction kit.0 -
