Virgin media cancellation

Hi everyone,

I just signed up for Virgin media big kahuna bundle with TV and Sport, I had to add on HD channels for the sport, so not as good a deal as I was hoping. It was installed this weekend but I haven't signed the paper contract yet.

The broadband is really good but I am really unhappy with the TV on offer (no Sky atlantic!!), I also find the user interface really terrible compared to sky.

I was wondering if anyone knows what my consumer rights are if I want to cancel TV and Phone but keep broadband? In the contract it says that once it's installed then I have to pay back a reduced amount for every month left on the contract, that would come to over £600! I haven't phoned them yet because I wanted to figure our where I stand before they bamboozle me.

Thanks for your help in advance! :)

Your consumer rights will not help you here as (by your own admission) service is not only installed but you are using it. Your right to cancel expires when the agreed service is supplied.

Virgin would provide Atlantic is Sky let them - and it has never been available since Day 1.

Yes, you can cancel phone and TV but you'll be expected to pay whatever minimum term you agreed - however, by having all services, your BB is considerably cheaper. Cancel, and the cost increases.

IS there any details regarding cancellation in your activation letter?
    - I thought there was something regarding canceling within 28 days

How long have you been using the service?

You are allowd to cancel up to installation. A delay is built in, but you can waive this and seek speedier connection, but this removes any ability to cancel with no cost. To be fair, most telcos work the same way.
