Santander 1230

I love the Santa 123 but it would be one of the last accounts I would use for savings.
Lloyds, Tesco, BoS are all paying better rates, and for regular monthly savings, the FD/M&S/HSBC regular savings accounts are unbeatable.0 -
Nationwide flexdirect £2500 5% for a year, if you haven't done it already. Only matched by TSB and only beaten by the 6% savers mentioned above.0

Depends what you want to do with your money - instant access, locked away, ISA / Tax free earnings, Peer to Peer, etc.
Nationwide offers 5% interest on their Flexaccount - http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/our-current-accounts/overview#xtab:account-that-pays-interest
M&S Bank offers 6% on a Savings account which is only provided if you open their current account. Plus if you switch your bank account to M&S, you also receive a £100 gift voucher - http://bank.marksandspencer.com/banking/mands-current-account/overview/
Tesco offers 3% upto £3000 plus clubcard points for your spending - http://www.tescobank.com/current-accounts/index.html
FirstDirect's 1st Account offers £125 for switching to them (and £100 additionally if you don't like them) - http://www2.firstdirect.com/1/2/banking
There's a MSE Article which may help - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts
Lastly, if you have over £70K, this article may be off interest to you - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/savings/11113490/I-get-3pc-interest-without-tying-up-my-money-meet-the-ingenious-saver-with-11-current-accounts.html

Are there any other accounts that offer 3% on 20k apart from S1230

Are there any other accounts that offer 3% on 20k apart from S123
None. However, you can open one a/c under your own name and open a second a/c in joint name i.e. you & partner. That way if you use the 20K limit on one a/c, transfer the remaining balance to the other account. Both will then earn up to 3%!Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared - Buddha0 -
So my wife and I just filled our 2 TSB accounts.
5% @ TSB (Joint)
5% @ Nationwide* (£7.5K in total...but only for a year)
4% @ Lloyds (£15K in total)
3% @ BoS (£30K in total)
Come back when you've filled those.
* Applying the right way could make you an additional £250-300 (maybe even more) between you in incentive payments, thereby (at least) doubling your return over the 12 months!0 -
Are you allowed one more TSB? So one each, and one joint account between you?0

Thanks all,
Aim is to use the accounts to put savings for paying off mortgage(without incurring early repayment costs).
Wife is opening accounts at this stage as she is lower tax bracket.
So any where upto 5 years fixed is an option on savings.0
