A 6ft fence is hardly likely to deter any self respecting burglar. regardless of which way round it is.
Yeah , thanks for that Mr Serious , as for the rest of your post , i think about 8 people said it alreadyNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
If he's saying the fence is all yours, you could do the neighbourly thing and ask him whether he would prefer pink or purple when you put up your new fence
Might make him reconsider. 0 -
One clue is that if the nicer side of the fence is facing your garden then your neighbour is probably responsible for that fence, because traditionally you show your neighbour the best side of the fence. So for example if the side with wood cross-pieces faces towards your garden then you're probably responsible for that fence.
I can't say that's the case in any of the neighbourhoods I've lived in, and that's quite a few!
Why would you spend a small fortune on fencing and give your neighbours the best view of it? They're getting a fence, that should be enough.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
When our estate was built, in the early seventies, gardens were separated by wooden stakes supporting two lengths of wire. Any fences added were, of course , the property of the households that had them installed, so no left- or right-hand rules.0
