... after seeing the original "Grabbit" thread here in May/June ?
if so, bad news
virgin are pulling the tv service off as early as january. our phones will only be 6 or 7 months old when one of its main applications gets terminated ... and that's just crap.

here's the original thread where we discussed our purchases (the thread has been moved to the mobile phone section of the forum where i know other money savers might not normally visit).

if you have any comments maybe best to make them in the original thread to preserve continuity and i'll quietly bump this new thread for a day or so in order that our friends here who might have bought a virgin lobster tv phone can see what's happening.

I won`t miss the TV, but will the DAB radio still work? I didn`t see any mention in the links provided.0

Suffolkdb the DAB radio will continue to work. The take-up of DAB radio has been much more successful in this county than the TV format used by the Virgin Lobster (and nothing else, hence it flopped) so DAB radio won't be disappearing from our airwaves any time soon.0

that is a poor show...
i guess they will be super cheap on eBay soon though, and we can buy them just for the DAB radio part, and plug into a hifi???0 -
CEX gave me around £42.00 - for my lobster - supplied original packaging and they sent the cheque or bank transfer around a week later.

Even without the TV its still a very cheap Windows Smartphone0

The tv was very poor anyway, and cost £5 a month.
Its still a good phone for dab-radio/divx/email/etc if you dont mind the chunky size and poor battery life.0 -
Its still pretty good if you want to use it for the Windows and DAB Radio. Personally I got bored of mine after about 1 week and I sold it on eBay...0

Brilliant little phone !!.Never watch TV on it but SATNAV loaded on it is brilliant. Also watched Little Britain Xmas special on it last week (on memory card) whilst stuck on M25 carpark0

Great phone, and I just love the fact that it charges by miniUSB so I already had extra chargers for USB and car. Very convenient.
I won't miss the TV.0 -
DAB radio is upgrading to AAC2 compression soon so many stations will change format, some will remain as they are.0
