Do powerline adapters generate much heat?

Hi,
I have ran a four socket extension cable to power my tv which sits on chest of drawers in bedroom. For tidiness I have put the extension socket under the base of chest of drawers on the floor (rather than having it hanging on wall) a few inches to spare above it, so not too worried about heat being generated just a nowtv and tv being powered from it.
Thinking of adding this powerline adapter as well to extension so as to get Netflix on tv, as nowtv box doesn't have it.

It works fine and is a little bit chunky there is maybe 1 inch to spare from top of powerline adapter to base of chest of drawers. Lots of space to sides.
Just wondering from the point of view of safety as I don't want any fire starting does the above powerline adapter generate much heat (it does tend to get warm after a while) as it is on floor under chest of drawers with maybe an inch between top of adapter and base of unit.
Thanks
John

Mine get a little warm but nothing that can be described as hot. That said, you should be plugging the PLA into the wall then run the extension from the the through plug. Not all PLA's work well in extensions. I guess you'd have to try it.
Anyway that 1" and plenty around the sides should be fine.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

My powerline adaptors don't get very warm. They do not work well in extension leads though.0

£50 is a lot to pay for a pair of powerline adapters.
look here £21 (+£2 p&p):

These don't have the socket to pass through the mains which you may not need.
If you do then Amazon have a pair at £37 incl p&p:

They do not produce much heat. I have just decommissioned a pair of Netgear Powerline adapters. I found that the wi-fi in my house gives better performance than the powerline adapters. I had had to connect one of them to the first socket of an extension board, and unfortunately the other end was on the other ring main.
So I got 8Mb/s with the adapters, compared to 20Mb/s on wi-fi, with 38Mb/s wired at the router.
