I've found the following website to be very competitive and the service is good. It's who we use as one of our suppliers at work
https://www.ebuyer.com. Apologies if this has been posted before!

I must warn people that they have had loads of complaints and insist that you email them for everything. Having found this site (where people have listed their problems), I was dubious about an order I had just placed with them was ever going to turn up as people have complained about non delivery, wrong items, etc.
The order did turn up though and was just as I ordered. Maybe those problems are behind them now?
In my opinion, if you're unsure about ordering from them then just order something that doesn't cost that much instead of ordering something that costs couple of hundred pounds just to come across the problems as listed in the above link.
I use MSN/Kelkoo to search for hardware/software and see who is cheapest (sometimes ebuyer aren't the cheapest).0 -
i'd be suprised if ebuyer hasn't been mentioned. I've spent £££s with them over the years.
The customer support is the worst ever. I been with them when they used to accept telephone calls for sales, then just support, now purely online.
Unfortunately i do what most people do and go back to them every time. They have the biggest buying power in the UK and no other store can be as competitive as them in price. Some stores like komplett and aria can beat them in a particular product sometimes but overall, not close.
Luckily nearly everything you can think of has been automated. Such as if you the wrong item has been delivered or a fault has occured. You just fill in the online form, they give you a number to write on the packaging, and you post it back. However the process takes a week usually, while other sites do it within 24 hours. From when you report the fault or error, to when you get your money back will equate to approximately two weeks.
Don't be alarmed, I've placed around 12 medium-large orders with them over 4 years and its happened only twice. I've had friends who have never encountered problems (although they report the same time delays).
However on one occassion, they failed to read my enotes for months, and when they did, they replied "we will get back to you." Infact they did this several times in the same thread. Eventually I sent them a letter based on the template trading standards gave me and they phoned me personally. I got a replacement. Although they would not offer me a full refund because of the time elapsed.
In summary, I'd use them. Look out for inferior ebuyer branded products, especially ebuyer memory. Only buy good brands from them. If ebuyer fails to respond to you within a reasonable time, send them a letter by recorded post. Tradings standards view on this, is that its your right to recieve a response or action from them within a reasonable timeframe.

I don't think there is an online hardware store that doesn't have any horror stories.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

Ebuyer are terrible if anything goes wrong, it is well documentated. Sure all etailors have problems, but Ebuyer have far more than there share.
Go to either Novatech or Komplett for good service.

Komplett good service?
You’ve got to be kidding me I only tried them once for a hard drive and what a rigmarole that was.
Talk about a micky mouse outfit the one I ordered supposdley had hundreds in stock and would be delivered the next day.
So the next day comes and goes and after emailing them to ask where it was I was told it was out of stock and they wouldn’t be getting any in for a few weeks.
So despite the fact they had taken the money out of my account I had no hard drive as promised and had to wait nearly 2 weeks to get it as trying to get a refund out of them was like trying to get blood out of a stone.
I still had to pay for the next day delivery to.
I’ve ordered of ebuyer ever since and touch wood so far they haven’t let me down.0 -

I've used ebuyer for years and spent thousands on big and small orders most recently bought new hoover for my mum. It's true you get the occasionl not working or damaged in transit item but they are very good with returns. I havn;t had any problems in fact I've sent a dvd-writer back twice because the kids kept damaging it even cheekily after three months of using a second replacement, i sent it as faulty realising my 14 day return period was up as stated on their website plus they don't cover fault through your own fault unless it comes with it, and they sent me a replacemet.
I even sent motherboard after motherboard about three or for times back as faulty when it was actually my power supply, then i sent that back too and got a replacement.
I don't usually do this and have had plenty of good items, and new out of the box, sometimes because they're the same price as being sold second hand on ebay.
It's not that clear on the site but if you include the postage reciept with your return, or stick it in a envelope and post it of to them they refund you the postage. the address is on the website.
