First Direct Application Process

I applied for a First Direct account on Monday.

I didn't get an instant decision and was told they would contact me in the next 48 hours.

The next day I recieved an email advising me I needed to send them some ID, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

However Once I've sent the ID how long do they normally take to get back to you?

Many thanks

It's a normal thing if they can't verify your ID using their sources.
However, it's PITA: Passport certification for First Direct

That said, it's worth thinking why they couldn't verify the ID without copies.

When I spoke to them they said they had verified my address via the voters roll but they would need another form of ID. My surnames double barrelled however on the voters roll it only appears as John Smith rather than John Smith-Jones.

I have an appointment with a solicitor tomorrow to verify my passport. I better just get accepted after all this drama lol
