Chances of getting Amex Platinum Cashback Everyday?

in Credit cards
So my Experian credit score right now is a supposedly "Excellent" 968.
I currently earn £27000 a year and have £3200 available credit with 3% usage. I'm never overdrawn.
My credit report lists 5 positive factors with the only negative factor being that I have no settled credit accounts.
The only credit searches showing up are 2 current account applications in January (both accepted).
I'd have thought all of that might add up to a fairly decent chance, but the MSE eligibility checker says I have a 0% chance of getting the Amex card.
I'm now wondering on what basis the MSE tool is saying that, and whether to just apply for the card anyway? After all, I seem to exceed all the criteria listed on the Amex website...

Why not apply and see what happens?
Why do people over-think something so basic?0 -

Because MSE's checker claims I have no chance. Sounds like nonsense to me, but if it's true, why waste a credit search?
If it's nonsense, why is that information even being given out?0 -

I wouldn't pay attention to it. It still gives me a 0% chance at the Platinum Cashback Amex and I have held one for over a year now.
I applied and was immediately accepted after just over 1 year credit history, 20.5k salary at 20 years old with a 3k limit. They tried to up this to just under 8k last year but I refused it and I've kept it at the current level.0 -
I have a AMEX Platinum Cashback with me even on the electoral roll, so it might be a bit unpredictable on their criteria.0

Mse don't lend money, they also don't know amex internal rulesDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I presumed they'd discussed certain criteria with the lenders of the cards they've listed, else their tool seems completely redundant really...Mse don't lend money, they also don't know amex internal rulesCredit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Only info a lender would even give their own staff is that on their websites, profiles are very protectedDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
