How long until I get my Keys?

I am in the process of purchasing a house,
so far completed:
House found and offer accepted,
mortgage application completed,
Valuation survey completed (Undervalued),
New sale price agreed,
Mortgage offer received to me and solicitor,
Searches paid for and instructed,
We have no chain on either side as I am FTB and the house is vacant.
I have tried contacting my solicitor for the last week to get an update on what is next and how long it will be but she is either always out or does not return my email.
I just wonder what is the next step and how long will it be? Any help anyone?

sounds like it could be a very long time if your solicitor isn't getting back to you quickly.
It took me a month from searches coming back & mortgage offer. But it depends on the property and the chain you are in.0 -
Thanks for your response,
No chain either side I am a FTB and its a vacant property.
Just feel like its so close but then feels so far away still too.0 -

I was hoping to move in by 27th Feb, do you think this will be unrealistic?0

As long as your solicitor can get their act together then that date is easily achievable I think, no reason why it couldn't be sooner if there is no chain. Did you go with a solicitor in a large practice, or is it just one on their own, so if they are off sick, or on holiday, then no-one is around to deal with things?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. (he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Sounds very optimistic to me!...Then again I don't know much about these things, I always lean on the side of pessimism.
Also, don't forget, when you to finally get keys in hand, it is advisable to have new locks/keys fitted asap0 -
its quite a small practice but have 3 conveyancers. Everything I look at says there is only exchange of contracts and them completion left to do but I just hope its soon I am so excited haha0

they will sort you out quicker and be glad to see the back of you.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Yes I think I will take that tact.0

It could take three weeks for searches to take place!0
