Chargeback (Leather Sofa World now comitting fraud)

Hi,
I was given some excellent advice by the contributors and received £564 back from the above company via Chargeback.
The company is now challenging this with me, by actually saying I was delivered this Sofa by them, and they have sent me a copy of the delivery note.
Firstly I never received any Sofa from them and I feel that I may need to go to the Police and get them involved.
I am sending a copy of my full driving license and copy of passport to Santander to prove that the signature is not the one on the delivery note.
Can a company do this by faking a delivery note, purporting to be my signature and get away with this.
I would be grateful for any advice in this matter.

Risky to accuse them of fraud when you have no evidence. The sofa might have been delivered to an address that the courier thought was correct and someone at that address received. Or the driver might have been colluding to deliver it to the wrong place. Either way you cannot say that the retailer has committed fraud.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

As stated above, could be the delivery driver not the company0

Hi,
Thanks for the reply's, this has been a on going situation since December 2014, when they did not deliver the Sofa. (Can a Moderator link my other thread, because I do not have the privileges on my account)
If a company is promising a refund and over 2 weeks does not do so, and then I get the bank involved and they apply the chargeback.
Then a letter arrives yesterday from the bank, that they are contesting the chargeback.
Because they delivered the Sofa, with no date on the delivery note.
Is this a logical step to take for a reputable company to do.0 -
If the sofa was delivered, and they have a signature, then yes, it is a logical step for them to take.0

If the signature does not look mine, how then can I prove that they did deliver the Sofa.
Basically, they can't prove it or I can't deny it.
Let the court settle the matter.0 -

That's why some companies now take a photo of the item in the house after delivering it.
It always surprises me how easily some delivery companies or RM let some random person to sign without even checking the ID.

You can deny.
If the bank doesn't reverse the chargeback, they have no proofs for taking you to the court, but thy might sue the delivery company.Let the court settle the matter.0 -

Whilst yours is a genuine case with no fraud implied on your part by my post, surely you can see a situation where someone who did wish to commit fraud could merely sign in a completely different way to their normal signature? Saying that the signature obtained at the door by a courier company does not match the one on your bank card is hardly proof that item was not delivered.
As far as Leather sofa world are concerned they have proof item was delivered so you will need to work with them to see what can have gone wrong, and where courier actually delivered the sofa. I would also suggest that you change the thread title, or ask the correct board guide to do so as accusing a company of fraud is not a particularly good idea in this day and age.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
