Help, need advice please

Hi, i am new to the forum and am desperate for advice regarding my rights buying a car from garage. My partner recently started car shopping and found a Passat at reputable garage advertised at £3,300 which had been reduced by £400 so contacted them. The garage sent him an email stating that car was £3,000 so he went to look at it with friend and signed a headed document stating that the deposit had been paid (£200) and £2,800 balance owing and extra's inc in price were a full service,MOT and replacement of anything that was required. Now the garage is stating that they made a mistake with price and they want £3,300 for it. Can they do this if we have headed emails plus a document signed by them stating first mentioned price of £3,000? Thanks

Do you have an invoice or just an email?

If they have signed an agreement stating that they agree to sell you the car for £3,000, then they have entered into a contact and must honour it.

What difference would that make? An written agreement is an agreement. The "invoice" merely reflects the financial details of the transaction. One would assume that as a deposit has been made, this will be reflected on the written agreement thus forming the contract.
