Considering booking a week AI here at the end of June for myself, husband and 2 DSDs (11/15)
Does anyone have any opinions of the hotel of playa del blanca in general?
Reviews seem good on trip advisor......
Went to an AI years ago with my mates in Ibiza and it was rank! Plus I've never been to the canaries before.
Thank you x

We've been to playa blanca twice and absolutely love it. Never stayed at Rubicon but heard its a really good hotel. We walked past it and it looks beautiful. The resort itself very nice with lots of shops and places to eat (we go AI but still like to eat out a few times). There a very nice mariner that has a market a couple of times a week. Then at the other side of the resort theres the harbour where you can get the ferry to feutaventurer for the day.0

We stayed there many moons ago when our 2 were toddlers. It was a lovely hotel and from what I remember the food was fine.
It was geared towards the Spanish and Germans at showtime though. The Hotel is about a mile from the main part of Playa Blanca along a promenade, about half way there is a lovely beach (flamingo) with some bars/restaurants. There are a couple of very small water parks nearby too, the one we went to this year kept our two now teenagers entertained for an afternoon.
As suggested can recommend the ferry/glass bottom boat(cheaper) kiosk by harbour gave us a free kids place. Beware as the sea can be very choppy...
Market is good too, but right at the other end of resort and there's a bowling alley in the shopping centre there too.
Between the Main resort and the Marina there is another lovely beach with a small collection of bars which played live music and there's a BK too..0 -
I went to that very hotel over Christmas. I thought it was great. Pool a little cold, the heating could definitely be more generous, but the rooms were good, food was good, staff were all friendly and the animations team were very good.
I like Playa Blanca, it's not too big, but there's plenty of bars/restaurants/shops etc, and it's a pleasant 40 minutes walk from the hotel. Or €4.50 ish in a taxi

If you go to Lanzarote it is worth getting out and about. I would recommend:
Going up the volcano, they have a restaurant where the cook directly from the heat of the volcano.
Cesar Manrique's house (He was an artist and architect)
Jameos Del Agua (These are ancient lava tubes that are now caves)
Cuevos de los Verdes (more caves)
Mirador del Rio (a viewpoint on the north of the island)
Jardin del Cactus (Cactus garden)
Geria (The wine region)
Make sure you sample Honey Rum (Ron Miel), if you go AI they'll almost certainly have it in the bar......0
