Panasonic Washing Machine Warranty Repairs

We were delighted to see John Lewis selling Panasonic washing machines with a 6year warranty and at just over 2 year old ours went wrong. (Not draining on a NA-168VX2)
A call to JL and they passed us on to Panasonic and to be fair the call to Panasonic went well and gave us confidence that the repair would be done efficiently. How wrong we were.... in fact we were talking to a call handling sub contractor who in turn arranges for the actual repairer to visit assess the fault and if a Panasonic order the parts and arrange the actual repair. Total time from reporting to getting the machine back in service a month.
Less than 12 months later same fault returns. Fault reported and 10 days to get the fault diagnosed. Then required part not in stock and on back order but promised for the 30th January. A call to Panasonic (and letter) complaining about the time it takes to get someone to look at the machine. A promise that the situation will be monitored and we will get a call from the repairer sub contractor as soon as the part arrives on the 30th.
30th has come and gone with no call!
We have however discovered the massive cost of using a launderette and if this poor service and these breakdowns continue we will have paid for the machine again in laundry bills.
Before buying another washing machine we will be asking how the repairs are handled and this will feature heavily in a selection. It won't be a Panasonic!
We were also just going to buy the new Panasonic 4k 55inch TV.
Not any more and have gone for the Sony.
We are now going to let JL have details of our experience.
