Or it could be that due to the weather being good enough to dry outdoors the tumbler driers weren't used for a prolonged period up to that point so getting a build up of dust etc in areas that get hot?

11 pm seems very early, try and figure the exact time of when the night rate starts. If you have gas central heating think about switching to a single rate meter. You would have to use approx 30% of your total units to make eco 7 pay

Just do a search , I ve been rabbiting on about timerswitches being out of kilter for years on here. explained in full many times. At the moment ScotPower are the only supplier to be at all interested in what time these timers are set on. Which magazine did a story last year saying consumers are losing money due to it. It concerns the old style analogue 24hr timers
