Did your engagement ring fit?

My fianc! went off a ring I already had. He snuck it out to the jewellers. Unfortunately the reason I don't wear it is because it's a tiny bit big so he was half size out. It fot while we were on hols but now it's a bit loose in the cold uk so I had a bit taken out.

In all honesty I don't know anyone who had a surprise ring which fit. X

Mine fit absolutely perfectly, it was a complete surprise in two respects...1 that he actually got round to asking, and 2 that it fit.
I have no idea how he did it, I dont even know what size i am myself. I do wear a ring on the other hand but its so banged and squashed it is kind of moulded to that finger alone and i very rarely have it off anyway so he couldnt use that.
I have pressed him a few times and will not tell me - I would suspect it was a complete fluke that it fit.

Mine was a pretty good fit at the time. I've since lost some weight and it's starting to feel a bit loose though. I'm not sure that it could be resized very easily because of the design. I might just wear it on a different finger after we get married because I'm not particularly keen on two rings on the same finger anyway.

Fitted perfectly when engaged and for the next 37 years. Would probably still be fine but was stolen along with my wedding ring 5 years ago.

Mine fitted perfectly, and I don't wear jewellery!

We were at dinner one night and my sister asked me to wear her ring while she went to wash her hands and my mum passed a comment about how funny it was that all the women in the family wear ring size Q.

OH designed my ring and took my sister to the jewellers to have her measured.

Mine was too big. When we got engaged I wore my grandmother's engagement ring- which he knew the size of- so we were both surprised when the engagement ring he bought at a later date in the same size didn't fit. I wore a ring snuggie to keep it on until we got married. Once I had my wedding ring on as well (which was half a size smaller) it fit perfectly- probably a combination of it being placed higher up on my finger and being held in place by my wedding ring which is designed to fit around the gemstone.

Mine was too big as there was only one standard size in the shop plus I don't wear rings so he would have had nothing to go on!

Mine was too big, it's his grandmothers and I have the smallest fingers in the world so the jewelers wouldn't resize it without me there. When we went in they were amazed that what he'd asked for was correct though!

Mine was way too big - it easily fit on my thumb! The jeweller told my OH they tend to sell a large ring to start to guarantee it will go on (because it would be awful not to be able to get it on her finger) then they replace it with the correct size after. My OH proposed while we were out rowing and I was really paranoid that the ring would fall off and get lost in the lake. Thankfully I didn't lose it and when we got home from our holiday we just went in and exchanged it for the correct size.

Mine was too small at first but I'd planned on a diet so put up with it incase my fingers shrunk now it's too big and spins around and the diamond often ends up between my fingers not on top of my finger.
