Provident Personal Credit Nightmare!

Options
Hi everyone,

I have a nightmare issue with Provident i'm hoping to get some help with.

Me and my wife both have a loan with Provident, However in November my health became worse and our agent was made aware that we were having problems, Our agent never came to collect, He left is weeks before collecting and i made a payment by phone, I explaiend this isn't what i agreed to but nothing more was said. Me and my wife only have the one phone and it doesn't work very well,

When our agent wasn't coming i logged a complaint with Provident, A few weeks had passed and we entered December, I then noticed that Provident had placed a late payment mark on my credit file for November AND December, All this because the agent was simply NOT coming round.

The strange thing is, when i checked my wife's credit report Provident have updated hers with the green showing payments up to date, How can they show hers up to date & put a late payment mark on mine for Nov and Dec when i made the payments on the accounts BOTH at the same time. It doesn't make any sense.

I logged the complaint with Provident and asked them if they can remove the late payments, I explained in my complaint that the agent was not coming round and i said i do not have a working phone to make phone payments, I'm only comfortable paying the agent anyway but he wasnt even respondint to my text messages when i'd send them.

Anyway, today i had a reply from Provident about my complaint and the long and short of it is, We cannot remove the late payment marks on your report as they are truthfully registered, That's fine but they Wouldn't be there if they had stuck to their deal to collect payments from me at home. I don't know what to do, is it worth sending them a letter back explaining how can they update mine with late marks and my wife's with payments up to date?

I explained everything in my complaint to them, the fact we don't have a working phone, and also the agent isn't coming around, in their reply they never even said anything about me mentioning the agent not calling, they just simply said your property is hard to access, That's untrue, I live in a mainsonette and we have a buzzer entrance into our building, 99% of the time the door downstairs gets left open and their is a working buzzer for them to use which they haven't because if anyone called round the payments would of been made and i wouldn't be fighthing to get these late payments removed.

It just seems like they have targetted me becasuse i've complained, If they are doing things by law and the way they should based on what they said in their letter then my wife would have the 2 late payments on her credit too, as i've only ever maded payments to both accounts at the exact same time.

I hope someone here might be able to give me some advice on what possibly to do next,

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Make the complaint to provident again, explaining everything, telling them that you intend to take them to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they do not resolve things to your satisfaction.

Your broadband appears to be working well enough.

True, but I thought this was January. Not November or December.

And anyway, if they're charging such extortiate rates for loans, the least they can do is get someone to turn up and collect the money as agreed.

    Hi all,
Firstly i'm sorry if this is the wrong place to put this post, I'm unsure what category to ask this in.

After placing an order with Domino's the results were socking, The food was cold, The pizza was all over the place, it must of been squashed or something as i noticed they didn't have one of those plastic supports in the box either. And to top it off there was a long hair under the toppings.

I have tried to call the store and they have told me the manager is not there, They didn't seem to understand properly what i was trying to say or complain about. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what their policy is on refunds? I would not accept a replacement from them as i don't fancy going through this again and to be honest its just put me off.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

The balance on the budgeting loan is being taken weekly off my benefit, When she mentioned debt management on the phone today she said they will look at overpayments and any money i owe and will take this off your ESA backdated payment from winning your Tribunal.

You obviously did and do have a working phone and the ability to make payments with it.
  • This is Britain's oldest lender! :p strikes me they don't make it easy to do electronic payments, though I do wonder how Satsuma loans customers fair, when there isn't the luxury of D/D or CPA with the provi

OP - try contacting the branch manager for your area, they can talk more sense than HO sometimes, so I'll hope you have a good'en for your area x
