Car Insurance No Claims Query
I had an car accident almost 2 years ago, ended up damaging a Golf Course hedge, no other cars were involved. Told my insurers who contacted the Golf Course. I asked what would happen if the Golf Course did not get back to them and the Insurers said that after 2 years the claim would be cancelled.
I scrapped my car as it was insured 3rd Party and the fixing the damage would have cost me more than the car was worth. I've not been asked to pay my excess and would have thought the insurance company would have been chasing me if they have had to pay out.
Basically I want to know if this is normal practise? If the other party do not claim within the 2 years since the accident do I get my no claim years back?
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks
Chris

There is not likely to be an excess to pay if just third party damage.
Ask them if they have paid out and if not, can you have your NCB back.0 -
If no claim was made the NCB will be returned.
Third parties claiming on your policy isn't subject to an excess, only if you are claiming on your policy for your car.0 -

I'd suggest ringing them up to find out if they had to pay out. If not, ask for your NCD to be re-instated.
Note that the incident is probably recorded on CUE, so even if they didn't pay out, you need to declare it when looking for quotes.0
