replacement optima alarm

My very old Optima XM house alarm has given up

I am thinking of replacing it with the new version Honeywell Optima
http://www.security.honeywell.com/uk/products/intruder/control-panels/gen4/462381.html
I am told these panels are very popular and fitted in many, many homes so does anyone here have alarm experience and knows if the wiring will be a straightforward swap like for like?
I can't seem to find an install guide or image of the circuit board for the new one to check for myself.

You should be able to swap this relic from the past with most wired panels that are currently on the market, most operate the same connections for zone / tamper / 12v.
The bell connections sometime require altering but you should be able to find swap over diagrams on the internet easy enough. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
The wiring is similar to your old one and very straightforward to replace. However, the box itself is a little smaller.
I've just changed mine out but fitted one of these instead... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONEYWELL-ACCENTA-MINI-GEN-4-INTRUDER-ALARM-WITH-LCD-KEYPAD-NEW-IN-STOCK-/131414664517? I was able to move the box under the stairs and run a wire to the keypad near the door. a lot neater than the original.
If you can't hide the panel then this is a direct replacement... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Optima-Compact-GEN4-Alarm-Panel-with-onboard-keypad-ADE-Honeywell-8EP396A-UK-/281344574327?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item4181718377No longer trainee
