nPower large final bill

Ok, i have read a lot about this but I switched from npower to eon last November and this week received a final electric bill for over £1300 !

I had been with npower for several years paying monthly direct debits but had loads of issues over past few years with my account being messed up. Payments had regularly gone up n down from as much as 125 per month to as low as 30. Account had been 100s sometimes 1000s in credit. Finally had enough of them and changed to Eon in November.

I live in a small modern 3 bed semi with partner and 6 year old so property is empty most of day. Don't understand how this much debt could be accumulated. I had constantly supplied meter reads which always seemed to confuse things more!

Anyway I have written to npower to complain over this as I can't afford that amount.

Where do I stand with this and will it be likely I will have to pay this?

    Hi boardinbob677

    Thanks for your post.

I'm sad to hear about the issues you've experienced with npower and your bills.

If you can contact me using the details on our profile page, I'm happy to investigate this to see why the Direct Debit fluctuated and why the balance has accrued. Please mark any correspondence with MSE so we know where the query has originated from, to ensure we complete the appropriate actions.

    Kind regards
