Figures don't match between P800 and P45's/P60's

Hi, I'm trying to sort out my 5 year lasting tax issues with HMRC. I don't want to go into that just yet, though I'm sure I'll be asking for assistance as I get into it. My question at the moment is... all my P800's PAYE income don't match up with the total pay on my P60's and P45's. They range from £100 below to £350 more. Same for tax, though it ranges from £50-100 more than my P60's and P45's state. Which figures are correct?

Comments

  • Ask HMRC for a breakdown of the figures on the P800 and you can then compare the figures on your P45/P60.

As Skint Yet Again says you can ask for a breakdown of your income for each of those years in writing

You can also phone HMRC and as long as you can get by some additional security questions which relate to various things about your employment in those years, i.e. who you worked for etc, dates of employment, etc, then HMRC can discuss everything and disclose details such as how much income is showing for each employer and whether there were and BIK for those years in question, so that you could get the details without needing to wait for them to come through the post.
