Application stress!!! Advice please! :)

Ok. So I got an AIP for 105k xmas and put an offer in and got accepted for 88000. I'm putting down 10% from savings. They first asked for just 3 months payslips which I had to go into Halifax for them to fax for me. ( the women who faxed then missed the company name off just 1 payslip which delayed the process) so they asked for last months bank statement and to resend pay slips. Now I rang on the 28th of this month and he said it's looking good it's passed 1st process , just waiting to here from my boss, then to go through 2nd process, I assume he means underwriters. My boss faxed the stuff off on the 29th. Just basically put that not looking at unemployment been there since I said I was and put more or less the same on earns overtime and bonus. Just wandering if any1 with any experience knows if they gonna lend or not. Think sellers are getting annoyed:(

I'm not surprised, it's been a month with very little progress. Have the mortgage company done their valuation? Has your solicitor completed the searches? Have you received draft contract etc from seller and raised relevant enquiries? I would expect a lot more to be done than you have mentioned. Your mortgage application seems to have taken much longer than I would expect, so if you haven't done any of the above either then I would be annoyed as a seller too.

Are you a FTB? If so the agent probably presented your (pretty low) offer as one that would proceed quickly rather than being in a chain, so you have not met the expectation they (rightly or wrongly) had.
  • Yes happy with valuation. The survey was done the 9th(was cancelled on the 3rd of jan by surveyor) Halifax rang me on the 13th to say they are happy with valuation and proceeding to check the payslips I sent and it should take 5 days until I hear anything. I rang on 19th to check and got told I needed to send in additional info(resend last payslip and bank statement). When I asked why no1 rang to tell me they said they had it on the system some1 spoke to me on the 20th which no1 did. The house is vacant, think it's been sold after been inherited. Everything sorted on both solicitors side contracts and searchs. just waiting on mortgage offer and results from local authority search.
