Tilt and Turn Windows

With tilt and turn windows, the handle is moved to one vertical position to allow the window to tilt in at the top in order to air a room.
Then alternatively the handle can be swung to the other vertical position to allow the window to swing inwards (door-style) so it can be used as a fire escape.
Is it possible the lock the handle in some way so that it can only be opened to the tilt opening at the top, and a key is required to open the full window?
I'm thinking if the window is in a child's room then potentially it's a danger if a child can open the full window to fire-escape mode.
Thanks

Yes, we have windows that do that in our Guide Hall.
The handle points down when the window is closed, to tilt the top inward for ventilation, on our windows the handle is moved to the horizontal position.
To move the handle to the full opening position, pointing upwards, you require a key to open the fitted lock.
However, my understanding is that this feature has to be decided on before the lock is fitted to the handle.0 -
As said you'd need this specified with the window , there won't be a hidden feature to do it otherwise .
one thing that comes to mind is to fit a door chain to the base of the window , this will allow it to tilt but need to be removed to allow swing opening or if you wanted something harder to remove then something like a cable lock.0 -
A cockspur handle at the bottom might look better . or as said a chain . don't lock a fire escape unless you really really need to . then don't hide the key and make sure everyone knows where it is . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
