Tools to improve poor credit score

My credit rating remains low as I find it difficult to improve it.
- I have Capital One credit card since last year August
- Contract phone since April 2014
That is all. I have always paid the above on time. I tried to apply for about two credit facilities every 3-4 months but still finding it difficult to get accepted.
What credit facility known to you that can get me accepted? All I want is to add more of them to improve my score.
Any advice will be appreciated.

A current account (presumably?), credit card, and contract phone will build your credit rating (not your credit "score", because you don't have one of those). Just give it time.0

I agree with the above advice.
Ensure you are on the electoral register, pay all of your accounts on time, and more importantly give it time!
Once organisations see you are managing your credit commitments well you are more likely to get accepted.
As you will be told on numerous occasions the 'credit scores' provided by the credit reference agencies are meaningless. When you apply for credit they look at the information your file contains, not a 'score' made up by these agencies.
Keep up the good work and good luck for the future.0 -
