'course, if you went to a campsite rather than wild camp, you could add traction battery charging to the hookup. I don't even want to know how long it'd take at the 6A they're usually limited to, though...

I don't think at campsites they allow to recharge the van's batteries, apart from the start battery. I have been told campsites don't even allow recharging of leisure batteries (how they enforce this, I don't know).

Campsites dont allow charging of the leisure batteries? Thats what the elctric hookup if for.

But with a van that can travel 30 miles tops, With a realistic distance of 20 miles. The OP wont be going far on holiday anyway.

Electric vans are relatively recent and too expensive for me. I am attracted to the idea that there's no road tax to pay and mot (but: is it still so?).

You made me think of Benny Hill and his milk float.

Always wondered how long they lasted, and how long they took to charge.

There was a recent thread in here about someone who bought a hybrid car and was moaning that the batteries were at the end of their life.

Given the replacement cost, any electric van would have to be really cheap to make sense. As when the batteries finally die it effectively writes the van off.
