i won my appeal a year ago and was placed in the wrag, i have been attending the work programme all year, but i have since been to see a specialist and have been told my condition has got worse and my doctor has wrote a letter saying this, my advisor on the work programme has told me to write to the dwp and ask them to consider putting me in the support group.
i want to know if i write the letter to them asking to be reconsidered will i still get paid every week till they decide, and what will happen if they decide i can't go in the support group, will i stay in the wrag, can someone advise please

You will continue to be paid during any request for reconsideration. With any review of a medical condition there are 3 options. 1 - You stay in the WRAG 2 - You move to the Support Group 3 - You are deemed to be fit for work.
If your GP is saying your condition has worsened it would seem unlikely that it would be option 3.0 -
And you would have the right to mandatory reconsideration and appeal if you were not happy with the decision.0

before you write the letter, look at the support group descriptors and quote which one you feel applies to you. send in evidence to back up this.
there is no set time frame for them to make a decision, and if successful, the payment will only rise from the date of the decision and not the date you asked them to reconsider0 -
mandatory reconsideration is when a decision maker looks at the decision again and appeal is where you go to tribunal0

Not quite that simple. They won't necessarily take information provided on face value. It's possible they will call you in for another assessment. How long it will take for that assessment to happen is anybody's guess at present.
There is no harm in requesting the recon. The fact that a medical condition has deteriorated doesn't automatically mean a move from the WRAG to Support Group. It's the extent of the deterioration and the effect on your ability to function which will sway the decision one way or the other.0 -
if they do want you to come to for another assesment do they still pay you while you are waiting, its my adviser at seetec who is telling me to ask them to reconsider because he says i have to do more work related activitys, which we both know i can't do, so hes saying i breaking the rules of the programme by not doing them, he has the letter from the doctor saying i can't sit long and can't use a mouse for long because of pain, but he says i have been put on the programme and need to do more, but my condition has got worst from my last assestment and he says i have to tell them of the change in my condition and that i have been to the specialist, i don't know what to do for the best, i'm scared of appeal process as everyone knows its very stressful, and like some say you can be found to be fit for work and took off all together, the advisor is saying this is UNLIKELY to happen because the condition as got worst, but he can't be sure what will happenNot quite that simple. Hi,
As people have said above, you need to write a letter confirming the deterioation of Health, what has specifically got worse and how this affects your daily activities. Use the descriptors as said to help you. Also include the medical evidence you have with the letter also. I can pretty much guarantee the DWP on receipt will refer it to Atos to carry out another WCA. You'll stay in the WRAG during this time and continue to be paid the same until the WCA report heads back from Atos (most likely Maximus by then) to the Decision Maker. This will likely take months. If they decide to keep you in the WRAG, you can then apply for a Mandatory Recon detailing the descriptors that you disagree with. This is usually unnecessary however if you supply accurate and full information from the beginning. Most tribunals are won simply because a claimaint provided more info in court than they did to Atos or the DWP decision Maker.0 -
i was moved from the WRAG to the support group without being reassessed.
in fact, i didn't even ask to be moved.
i sent new evidence to DLA who must have passed it on to ESA and a decision was made solely on the additional evidnece0 -
