Removing trees

Hi,


There is a garage next to my back garden, and it seems a tree between my garden and the garage wall is now damaging the wall. and the owner would like to remove the tree and therefore want my permission.


I am happy to do so but as someone never removed a tree in the UK before, not sure if this needs some permission from any authority or solely my decision?

Need to check council for tree preservation orders or conservation areas. Any good quality arbourist will be happy to advise.

We are not in conservation area. To be honest, he needs to remove the tree tomorrow as already removed the wall and need to put a new one asap. what is preservation order?

Make sure there are no preservation orders as its a criminal (not civil!) offence to remove (or even pollard) a tree with an order attached without consent.
