Apcoa ticket

Hi All,
I have received a 'Parking Contravention Charge Notice' from Apcoa after parking at a train station. I had no change for the machine and was running late for the train, so tried to pay by phone but had no mobile signal. I subsequently forgot until 3pm at which point I dialed the number and paid for the parking. When returning to my car that evening, I was relieved to see no PCN on my car. That was until the following day when a delivery driver pointed out I had a parking ticket stuck to the rear light on my car!
It says I am required to pay a parking contravention charge - 14 days to pay £50 or it rises to £85.
Now, do I have any grounds on which to appeal this ticket? The ticket was timed at 12:48pm, so before I paid for the parking at 3pm. I'm just concerned in that the advice states to wait for the first letter through the post, but that will mean I miss the chance to pay the reduced rate does it not?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

please read the newbies sticky thread as this covers everything people need to know
also look at a similar (but not the same) thread here

I am sure that you can follow the thoughts in that thread to deal with your own thread (apcoa and train station are just 2 similarities)0 -
Thanks for this. However, I just wanted to know if I appeal and lose, do I still get an option to pay the reduced amount I could pay within 14 days or will I be liable for the full charge?0

If you appeal and lose you get the option of appealing to PoPLA and get the 100% MSE discount. Don't be taken in by the offer of a scammers discount.
Follow the advice in the NEWBIES thread and you will pay nowt.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0
