I thought I spent far too much time on these boards but obviously not enough. Whats an mfit chart?0 -
mfit = mortgage free in three chart, on the mortgage free board some of us are in a challenge to try and reduce our mortgages in 3 years. Some are aiming to pay theirs off completely, some are aiming to reduce theirs by a certain amount ... one person produces a chart to keep track of all our progress, its fab!! Its really motivating to know others are doing the same and we're all supporting each other. It started because of the dfw board ... we all wanted the same kind of challenges and support as you guys have hereMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Thanks for the explanation benben. I would love to join that challenge but it will have to wait for now although I have an interview this week for a new job so maybe if I got that I could think about it as at the moment my mortgage is on interest only
Don't know if there is something wrong with the site this morning but I have posted a couple things on your thread this morning and they are not showing up. Or maybe its just me
Anyway as I've probably said before I really admire all your a doing. You are only bringing in one wage and you are still managing over payments to your mortagage I take my hat off to you and your determination and positivity :T0 -
Thank you Mae I really appreciate that  Its strange, even though I've only got one wage now I'm in a better financial possition than when I was with my ex. He earned good money but he just spent it all over the place .... he'd think nothing of getting 3 or 4 cabs a week whereas I haven't got one for over 2 years
His logic was "I can afford it cos I earn good money" unfortunately he never stopped to think how much he'd already spent on other things he thought he "deserved" cos he worked hard  ... theres only so many xboxes / psps / gadgets & the associated games / magazines / accessories that one person needs
I'm lucky that my parents gave me a good understanding of money when I was younger and I am not really very materialistic ... I am really motivated to get my mortgage lower and don't see it as a hardship, rather that those of us on this site are the lucky ones because we've figured our finances :money: so thank you Martin and thank you everyone who posts on here for supporting each other and for making me realise I'm not the only freak who sees their financial situation as a hobbyMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
