More BPA Nonsense

The Prankster has blogged about this today:
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/ukcpm-issue-invalid-popla-codes.html
What has happened is that UKPCM are sending out expired POPLA codes. The response from the BPA:
"In essence the operator should have changed the 7th digit of the POPLA code from a 4 to a 5 – the 7th digit denotes the year of the issue of the Verification Code.
We did send out reminders to all operators to do this but this operator must have missed it. I don’t think it’s deliberate, just an oversight. You could suggest to the people that you are in contact with to change the 7th digit from a 4 to a 5 when they appeal to POPLA – this might be more expeditious for them."
Given the number of BPA members who are quite happy to issue invoices to people who accidently transpose two letters of their registration when entering into a parking ticket machine, or who through a slight oversight are 10 minutes late getting back to their car; can the BPA not see the sheer hypocrisy of this position?

How is the whole private parking scam industry allowed to get away with all this carp for so long? I would have thought that any political party that puts something on their manifesto about sorting out these cowboys once and for all, would see a fair few extra voters leaning their way. Or do the [STRIKE]scummers[/STRIKE] scammers have various MPs in their pockets?!0

So, in effect, the BPA advises inventing your own PoPLA code if the operator cannot or will not provide a valid one.
That's nice to know. With an understanding of the (simple) structure of a PoPLA code it's pretty darned easy to invent a valid one from scratch!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Mr Troy thinks all is tickety boo, and all is whiter that white. :rotfl: :eek:PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

Mr Troy thinks all is tickety boo, and all is whiter that white. :rotfl: :eek:My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
