Why are the unit rates and standing charges different for Sainsburys Fixed Feb 16 when comparing those quoted by Cheap Energy Club and Sainsburys Energy and other comparison sites?

eg, Gas rate 3.329p on Cheapenergyclub vs 3.245p on Energyhelpline, Gas standing rate/day 21p vs 26p

Shouldnt they be the same as they are called the same product?

Do you mean the Discount Fix February 2016? It's a tariff exclusive to Cheap Energy Club as part of the Big Winter Switch Event.

    Hi Locky123

I wonder if you're comparing slightly different tariffs? The collective tariff Discount Fix February 2016 is only available on Cheap Energy Club, whereas there's a tariff open to all called Fixed Price February 2016 which is available on all comparison sites (and also shown on Energy Club).

I checked the rates and these did seem to match what was shown on Energy Helpline.

    Hope this helps.

Ah, I see Cheapenergy club call it Discount Fix Feb 16, the product offered by Sainsburys Energy called Fixed Price Feb 2016.

    A subtle but real difference.

Cheapenergyclub has lower standing charge but higher unit rates.

It still is slightly less for my energy usage.
