Expenses of buying property in Spain

Hello all,
I am starting to consider the idea of buying a property in Spain. i have done some research about the expenses that goes with it.
i have seen that anyone buying a property in Spain will need at least 15% of the property value for the expenses (solicitior, land registry, VAT).
I think 15% in expenses is a lot. Basically if you are gonna buy a property for EUR150k, you need minimum 15k to cover the expenses?
Thats nearly 5 times more than the money you need here.
Has anyone got any experience in buying in Spain?
Thanks

15% of €150k is €22.5k not €15k
Spain isn't the UK. They have completely different tax and legal systems. Unfortunately that's just how it is...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
